Exploring France

Ted and Po are off on another adventure. This time they’ve been exploring France. Our furry adventurers started their trip with a visit to the Carnaval De Nice, in Nice (pronounced: Neece) , France. It was a marvellous parade with people dressed in an array of costumes. Po wondered how the people in the golden costumes got so tall, while Ted was a little scared of the people in the red costumes. Nearly everyone in the parade wanted to come meet our two small bears, they received lots of waves and one girl even came right up to the barrier to say hello. At the end of the parade Ted and Po caught flowers that they were able to take home.

From Nice our bears headed to Menton, France for the 85th Lemon Festival. This was a similar event to Carnaval De Nice, but the floats and sculptures were decorated with citrus fruit. Ted and Po felt very, very small next to some of the fantastic sculptures.

“I want to be big and strong, like that lion,” Po told Ted.

“Don’t be silly Po. You’re just a little bear,” Ted growled, but secretly, he wished the same thing.

“I might be a little bear, but I can still have fun!” Po laughed, unfazed by his brother’s words. He and Ted then played hide and seek in the buckets of fruit.

“I’m going to be smelling like citrus for weeks!” Ted noted,

“Is that a problem?” Po asked, taking a sniff. Ted thought a moment, smelling the air around him,

“No,” he smiled, “I’ll get to remember this festival every day”.

“Exactly,” Po smiled back. That night our two small bears slept peacefully, dreaming of all the adventures still to come.
